MachineTrader™ is an independent trading platform. That means that MachineTrader™ is fully capable of managing a trading account, but rather than building a backend for executing trades, we hand trades off to the broker-dealer of your choice by integrating through their API. At this time, we currently integrate with Alpaca Markets, which offers commission-free trading on U.S. listed securities, and low-cost commissions on crypto trades.
Technology Description
MachineTrader™ was built using a flow-based development tool for visual programming. The browser-based editor codes automatically as you drag and drop the wide range of nodes available in the palette. These "flows" can then be deployed to the runtime in a single-click. JavaScript functions can be created using a rich text editor. The flows are stored using JSON, which makes it easy to share nodes. A built-in library allows users to save useful functions, templates, or flows for re-use. The light-weight runtime is built on Node.js, taking full advantage of its event-driven and non-blocking model.
Non-programmers will be able to build their own trading algorithms without writing code, although a little JavaScript goes a long way in customizing function nodes. From our perspective as experienced programmers, we have found that using this technology and platform is many times faster than writing code.
Each MachineTrader™ trading subscription client receives their own AWS cloud instance using Kubernetes, which allows the client instance to expand with each client's unique requirements. Users can modify their MachineTrader™ instances at will. Instead of asking for new features, you can simply build your own. It also means that all client data is completely private and not shared with the company (or anybody else). Your trading algorithms remain proprietary to you.

Our headline news feed scans 80+ business publications, to provide hundreds of postings per hour, with a lag time of approximately 4 minutes. We apply our proprietary NLP (Natural Language Processing) software to the news feed, which produces sentiment scores and digital indicators that can be used with algorithmic trading programs.
