The beauty of MachineTrader™ is that everything is customizable by non-programmers, so you can build and configure your own trading platform. Here, we describe the default setup that our traders find useful for managing the company trading accounts. We like to start the trading day with a quick overview of what's happening in the markets through our default Markets view.

Our default Markets chart setup - SPY, QQQ, VXX, TLT, ETHUSD, BTCUSD

The SPY ETF is designed to replicate the performance of the S&P 500 Index. The S&P 500 Index is composed of 500 large cap stocks representing the broad U.S. stock market.

The QQQ ETF is designed to replicate the performance of the Nasdaq-100 Index. The Nasdaq-100 Index is composed of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange. The Nasdaq-100 Index is overweight technology and growth stocks.

The TLT ETF is designed to replicate the performance of a U.S. Treasury bond portfolio with remaining maturities greater than twenty years.

The VXX ETN is designed to replicate the performance of VIX index futures. The VIX is proportional to the implied volatilities of options on the S&P 500 Index. The VIX is a market fear index because it's proportional to the demand for hedging stock volatility. The VXX ETN price rises in periods of high stock volatility, but it gradually drops over longer holding periods.

BTC is the symbol for Bitcoin, the most popular cryptocurrency. BTC is traded via specialized cryptocurrency exchanges. ETH is the symbol for Ethereum, another popular cryptocurrency.

These are the tickers our team has selected as a first glance of market conditions. You can customize your instance to display the tickers that are most relevant to your trading strategies.
